Terms of service
Last updated 8 September 2026
The terms on which EMBTEC provides this site, the private rooms we send, and the platform our clients use. Short, because a document nobody reads protects nobody.
What EMBTEC provides
EMBTEC designs and builds custom business operating systems, and operates the software that supports that work: this public site, the private prospect rooms we share with companies we are talking to, and the client portal.
Who may use the platform
Access is by invitation. Accounts are created by EMBTEC and by no other route — there is no self-service sign-up, and signing in successfully does not by itself grant access to anything. If you were not invited, you have no account, and the sign-in page will not create one for you.
The platform is for business use by the organisation it was provided to. It is not a consumer service and is not intended for anyone under 18.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account. Choose a password you do not use elsewhere, or sign in with Google and let Google carry that burden. You can see every active session at /account and end the ones you do not recognise.
If you think someone else has your credential, change it — that ends every other session at the same moment — and tell us.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to reach data belonging to another organisation, do not probe or attack the service, and do not use it to store anything unlawful. Do not share your account with someone who was not invited; ask us to invite them instead, which takes a moment.
Reporting a security flaw you find in good faith is welcome and will never be treated as a breach of these terms.
Prospect rooms
A prospect room is reached through a long unguessable link rather than a password. The link is the key: anyone holding it can open the room, so treat it as you would a confidential document. Rooms are never indexed by search engines, and we can revoke a link at any time — ask, and we will.
A room contains our reading of your business. It is a proposal, not an assessment of record, and nothing in it is a commitment by either of us.
Content the system generates
Parts of the platform draft research about companies using a language model. Every such draft is stored as a draft and reaches a record only when a person at EMBTEC approves it. Generated material is a starting point for human judgement — it is not professional advice, and it is not a statement of verified fact unless it carries a cited source.
Your data and ours
Information your organisation puts into the platform remains yours. We use it to do the work you engaged us for and for nothing else, and we will return or delete it on request. The software, design and systems EMBTEC builds remain ours except where a written agreement between us says otherwise.
What we collect and who processes it is set out in our privacy policy.
Availability
The platform is provided as it is, without a guaranteed level of availability. We run it carefully and monitor it, but this is not a service with an uptime commitment unless a signed agreement gives you one. We may change or withdraw features, and will give notice of anything that materially affects work you depend on.
Ending access
You can ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend an account that is being used in breach of these terms, or when a commercial relationship ends. A suspended account keeps its history — suspension removes access, not the record of work done.
Changes
When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. We will tell clients directly about any change that affects what they can rely on, rather than only posting it here.
